Care and Handling
Cut Flowers
Cymbidium Orchids are known for their longevity and durability as a cut flower. While shipping and storing we suggest an optimal temperature of 40-50 degrees fahrenheit. In some cases they can handle extended time at 38 degrees.
Our Cymbidiums are all packed in water tubes offering sufficient water volumes for travel and storage throughout the world. It’s not uncommon for cymbidiums to survive in these water tubes for more than 20 days if kept in the proper storage temperatures.
Common hazards include:
1) Extended time below 37 degrees (F).
2) Extended time above 80 degrees (F).
3) Extended exposure to ethylene gas.
When designing with cymbidiums it is always prudent to make a fresh cut to the stem and use fresh water with preservative prior to arranging.
